Christopher Robin (2018)

If there is any film this year that is as adorable as the films characters, it's this one. Based on the beloved books "Winnie The Pooh" by A.A Milne, comes an all new film based on the iconic and only human character to venture into the "One Hundred Acre Wood", Christopher Robin. This film is nostalgic for all who grew up with these iconic and lovable stories and characters. It is one of the best family films of the year.

Playing the iconic character, Christopher Robin, is Ewan McGregor. McGregor does an outstanding job as the self-titled character in a way that is lovable and happy. He brings out the best this film has to offer with his character. He's another piece of that nostalgic pie.

This film is not only enjoyable and entertaining, but it offers commentary on some of life's most enjoyable times in our lives: Childhood and growing up. This film shows both young and old audiences that you're never too old to have fun and an imagination. This film will no doubt be delighting audiences for years to come.

Director Marc Forster makes an undeniably charming and unforgettable film. It has charm, humor and a boat load of fun that both kids and adults will be entertained from start to finish. This is one of the best films of the year in regards to family fun and the films that "Disney" released this year.

At the heart of this film, is the life-like recreation of iconic characters: Winnie the Pooh, Tigger, Eeyore, Piglet, Kanga and Roo, are all as cute and adorable as they were back then. You see the friendship of both Christopher Robin and Pooh but also the rest of the friends. It's delightful and fun.

Geoff Zanelli crafts the score of the film. He makes a light and happy score that is as charming as the film itself. The film also has some of the songs from the original films, like Tigger's song. The inclusion of that makes the case for more nostalgia.

Get ready to go on a nostalgic journey! This film will delight the likes of young and older viewers. It has some of the best moments of any film family oriented of the year. This film is emotional, it's charming and funny, and it is no doubt a film that succeeds at entertaining audiences familiar with these characters and those who are not.

Bird Box (2018)

If there's any inclination that "Netflix" has produced several original films over the years, which turned out to be terrible, then call me a Debbie-downer. But this film blows all other original films by the mega-popular streaming service. It is unique and undoubtedly entertaining. This film is not only an entertaining film, it's one of the best horror films of the year. It's quite possibly one of my favorite horror films. Usually the horror film genre isn't my cup of tea, but this film peaked my interest of horror films. It's thrilling, compelling and genuinely entertaining, this film is one of the years best films.

What's so unique about this film, is the story line and utter suspense. It has a sci-fi feel to it and exposes itself as another film that shows the future gone awry. Hell in a hand basket. This film is one of the few films of its kind to offer more polarizing thrills then wishy-washy dialogue. Director Susanne Bier crafts an intelligently designed film that is as thrilling as the premise.

The film stars Sandra Bullock. Bullock brings her all to this film. She is utterly sensational in this film and gives one of her best performances. She puts raw emotion into every single moment of this film.

Keeping audiences on the edge of their seats, are composers Atticus Ross and Trent Reznor. The duo of composers craft a score that keeps the film more thrilling and gripping than ever before. With an electric and combative sound, they make this film as entertaining and thrilling as possible.

With 2018 drawing to a close for another year at the movies, this film, despite not being released in theaters, makes up with "Netflix", as a great way to let this years cinematic experience be an enjoyable conclusion,  even if this film is viewed by audiences in the comfort of their home.

This film has everything a fan of the horror film genre could want. It's gripping and thrilling, it's scary and emotionally charged. If there's any one original film that "Netflix" has to offer audiences and is worth watching, it is this one.

Spider-Man: Into The Spider-Verse (2018)

Swinging his way into theaters, an all new film on your favorite "Friendly Neighbor Spider-Man". This film marks the 7th depiction of the web-slinging hero and in it's own right serves as a phenomenal tribute to the character in thrilling proportions. It's got it all, action, beautiful animation, an exciting story, humor and heart. This film is perhaps one of the best films to showcase the legendary hero.

This film has an urban feel and it might just be one of the best parts about this film. It is a lot to show in the film's roughly 2 hour run time. It brings excitement to the film and the overall eye candy animation that is sure to wow audiences. The scope of the film is immense and absolutely astonishing.

There's a first for everything. This film offers audiences a fresh portrayal of not only spider-man, but shows audiences one of a less familiar character. What's unique and exciting, is that this is a character that breaks ground by being one of the superhero genres first African American superheroes and lead focus on the film. It's new and a win for different and fresh story ideas.

The characters in this film are very loveable. You just can't help but like them. They are vital to the film. The films voice cast is tremendous in providing audiences with these wonderful characters. Leading the cast are: Shameik Moore, Hailee Steinfeld, Nicholas Cage, John Mulaney and Liev Schreiber. They are one of this years' best in an animated film. Each actor makes their characters as enthusiastic as possible and that shows.

With a trio of directors, they put a lot into this film. Bob Persichetti, Peter Ramsey and Rodney Rothman craft a huge film. They showcase everything in a unique way. Their style is unique in that this film is presented as a comic-book. It's a first for superhero films.

Not only does this film have it all but its soundtrack is as lively and energetic as the film itself. It is used throughout the film and is extremely effective. Daniel Pemberton crafts a score that's electric and upbeat and is an exciting part of the film because it keeps the film swinging.

This film is undoubtedly entertaining. It is also very funny. It's approach in humor is natural and fits right into the film. It is able to add to the film.

This film manages to pull off a great portrayal of its villains. The villains are some of the iconic characters seen in previous spider-man films. Some of them audiences are getting introduced to. The blend of the villains into the films storyline is unique and thrilling.

This film also pays homage to the Tobey MaGuire Spider-Man trilogy and that's an exciting inclusion of those moments from that film portrayal. It also sentimentally honors the late Stan Lee and Steve Ditko. For "Marvel"  fans, this is truly a very special moment, adding this is a perfect tribute to the late icons.

Swinging to theaters, is a spider-man film that acts as its own world. It's a vividly striking film and has a sense of a big city feeling but also going beyond that landscape. This film is a landmark achievement in not only animated films but superhero flicks. This film will no doubt lose its spark and will be an enjoyable film for decades to come.

Aquaman (2018)

He's a fish out of water. After last years "Justice League", member Arthur Curry also known as the "Aquaman" gets his highly anticipated origin story of the ruler of Atlantis. "DC Comics" films have been a hit or miss in the past. With mediocre entries in the "DCEU"-(DC Extended Universe) such as: "Man of Steel" and "Batman Vs. Superman: Dawn Of Justice". On the other hand, you have successful DC films such as the "Dark Knight" trilogy and "Wonder Woman". This film joins the ranks among these films as one of the best films from "DC Comics".

With last years "Justice League" audiences got a glimpse of this films self titled "Aquaman". Now with his own film, we see him and all his glory. Star Jason Momoa is exciting and very and naturally funny as the iconic superhero. He is meant for this role. He brings his all into the character and is physically made just like the hero.

Co-starring alongside Momoa, is Amber Heard. Heard plays the love interest of Aquaman's and is also an atlantean. The two couldn't be a more perfect duo. Heard and Momoa excel in their roles and its shown. They have an undeniable chemistry and are one of the best team-ups in superhero films this year.

Director James Wan crafts a visual masterpiece of epic proportions. This film is probably the most visually stunning film of this year. Maybe the reason it's so stunning because I saw it on the biggest screen possible: "IMAX". This film will be all the more beautiful if you see it on the biggest screen available.

Not only is this film visually provocative, but it is surprisingly very funny. All the elements that were missing in the aforementioned films are all present in this film. Humor, heart, stunning set pieces and a phenomenal cast, what more could you want?

Orchestrating the films score, is Rupert Gregson-Williams. Gregson-Williams does a great job with this score. It is electric and fast paced. Keeps the energy alive from start to finish. It is one of the best scores of this year.

Two worlds, one hero. Despite a few films lacking quality, this film makes up for those everso promising films. This film has more than expected which was surprising and fun to not know what to expect, given I had mixed feelings prior to seeing this film, but when I left the theater I was in awe because I ended up being blown away.  "Aquaman" makes a huge splash with audiences and is perhaps the best film in the "DC Films" filmography thus far.

Director: James Wan

Starring: Jason Momoa, Amber Heard, Nicole Kidman, Willem Dafoe, Patrick Wilson

MPAA Rating: PG-13 (for sequences of sci-fi violence and action, and for some language)

Runtime: 2 Hours & 22 Minutes

Synopsis: From Warner Bros. Pictures and director James Wan comes an action-packed adventure that spans the vast, visually breathtaking underwater world of the seven seas, "Aquaman," starring Jason Momoa in the title role. The film reveals the origin story of half-human, half-Atlantean Arthur Curry and takes him on the journey of his lifetime--one that will not only force him to face who he really is, but to discover if he is worthy of who he was born to be... a king.

Mowgli: Legend of The Jungle (2018)

One of the most over adapted into films ever, gets  yet another film on the same "Jungle Book" story. It is very promising but is just another adaption of the works of Rudyard Kipling. That being said, this film is over dramatic and muddled with no development and offers no exciting original story. This film was originally going to be in theaters but went on Netflix instead. In my opinion, that was a very smart move. Otherwise, this film would've been a box office disaster.

The voice acting couldn't be more over the top. Leads: Christian Bale, Cate Blanchett and director of the film, Andy Serkis waste valuable time for audiences, when they could be doing better films. If this year brings some of the worst films cast, this film would be on that list.

Jack of all trades and director Andy Serkis makes one of the worst films of the year. It has however, a nice blend of color and action sequences but it's not enough to combat that weak and empty screenplay that possesses no positive qualities.

Not only does the films cast do a mediocre job at the voice acting, but granted that the story surrounds a boy raised in the wild, the young actor doesn't quite keep the pace between his animal characters and fellow cast members.

Running amok in the jungle needs to have some score right? Well, it does. It's scored by Nitin Sawhney. Sawhney makes an impressive score filled with up beat and fast paced qualities that might be too fast for the film itself.

One of the most overdone stories to get adapted to the big screen, the story of the "Jungle Book" and its new adaption is annoying at best with dazzling set pieces but it doesn't meet up to previous works of the tale such as the original 1960's adaptation by "Disney" and the live action remake in 2016.

Ralph Breaks The Internet (2018)

One of the most original Disney films, "Wreck it Ralph", gets a unique and whimsy sequel. Disney has always brought audiences films of beauty and awe. This film is no exception. This film is wonderful in every sense of the word. Hidden beneath the glitz and glamour lies a stubble of an opening sequence that is good but could've been better. With both this film and its predecessor, Disney doesn't disappoint with a satisfying sequel that may not be quite as fun as its original.

This film offers audiences a whole new setting while making a vast universe of an animated version of the internet. It's just so fascinating to see what these filmmakers are able to come up with. This film has more to meets the eye, more than its predecessor in regards to attention to detail and craft. Audiences will no doubt fall in love with this sequel.

Directors Rich Moore and Phil Johnston craft a funny and beautiful film. They make this film even more eye popping than the first installment. The humor and heart in this film is undeniably charming. Viewers of all ages will appreciate those elements of entertainment.

This film has a voice cast that is as energetic as the characters they play. Returning stars John C. Reilly and Sarah Silverman are back better than ever. They are a comedic duo unlike any film from Disney. They bring joy and warmth to this film that is everso needed to be a true family film. With newcomers Gal Gadot, Bill Hader and Taraji P. Henson, they are joyful companions to this film along with franchise favorites.

One of this films best parts are the appearance of every Disney princess with every original voice dating back to Jodi Benson aka Ariel. The fact that they are in this film, makes this film all the more fun and exciting, even if they are not an integral part of the film itself. Second, are the vast amounts of popular culture featured in this film. This film serves as a societal work of cinema that yearns to be noticed. Last, is the touching, yet brief cameo from the late Marvel big man, Stan Lee. Having this be one of Lee's final appearances in film, makes this film all the more sentimental.

Like the original, this film offers commentary on important social issues like: Friendship and heartbreak. This is one of the best things a film can do, is provide audiences, especially audiences tailored to children are sentimental and offer audiences the chance to grow as humans.

Returning to score the film, is Henry Jackman. Jackman approves upon his work from the original film. He adds an upbeat and electronic sound composition, that is as electrifying and enjoyable as the film.

Audiences across the world have waited six long years for the next chapter in adventures of Ralph and company. This film is undeniably charming, heartwarming and full of belly laughing humor. Though this film has some spots of fatigue, it's another crowd pleaser from the folks at Disney.

Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes Of Grindelwald (2018)

J.K Rowling's ultra-popular "Wizarding World" has taken the world by storm. For almost 20 years, her magical works have entertained millions worldwide. With this being the second film in the spin-off series, "Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald", is another magical film entry into the self proclaimed "Wizarding World", but isn't as thoroughly enjoyable as "Fantastic Beasts & Where To Find Them".

Unlike the predecessor, the follow-up is slow to start, drags on a little but is entertaining, even if it's not the likes of the 2016 film. David Yates director of the film, is no stranger to directing films in this saga. For this film, he ups the magic, and adds compelling set pieces and a riveting story, that may consist of wandering off abruptly with plot and story holes. This sequel will do anything and [succeedingly] cater to the fans of the beloved films.

Resuming his magical duties as Newt Scamander once again is Eddie Redmayne. Redmayne gives another charming go at Scamander. Co-starring alongside him are returning cast members: Katherine Waterston, Dan Fogler, Alison Sudol and playing the eponymous foe, Grindelwald, Johnny Depp. Viewers also see the likes of characters they've seen before and some that get a backstory. Playing a young Professor Dumbledore is Jude Law and playing the cursed woman who turns into a snake, [Voldemort's Nagini] is Claudia Kim. This cast is a magical one even if the performances get a little dry and boring at times.

One of the best parts about this film, is not only its special effects, but a riveting story and adds more to character arcs and offers audiences an ending you did not see coming. You'll be begging for more once it ends.

Giving the film a magical score once more, is film composer James Newton-Howard. Howard makes a lively and contemporary plethora of scores to accompany the film and all of its magic. [Howard]  also brings in a new spin on the iconic "Harry Potter" theme made famous by John Williams.

This franchise has been known for its stunning special effects and CGI, this film adds even more stunning and creative creatures that fit right into the zest of any installments in the franchise. This film boasts its creativity and special effects constantly, which audiences will enjoy.

Creating magic, one filmmaker at a time. This film is delightful in its presentation and succeeds in offering more to audiences as far as character development goes. Despite the lack of a consistent wow factor, and a slow start, this film is another magical achievement in the "Wizarding World" even if it doesn't quite make the mark that the other films in the saga had made.

Bohemian Rhapsody (2018)

One of the most prolific singers of all time and the frontman of Queen, Freddie Mercury, gets a highly anticipated film. While watching this film, you feel as if you are at one of the many concerts. The overall excitement and heart this film has is astounding. This film gives audiences an inside look at the upbringing one of rocks most flamboyant singers of all time. One of the most iconic rock bands of all time gets the film treatment it so long deserved.

Is there anyone who could possibly resemble the iconic singer in such a way? Not only does Rami Malek (Mr. Robot) resemble the late singer, he plays him in an unbelievable way. Malek puts all into this take on as Queen's leading man. Not only does Malek look like the iconic singer, but the rest of the cast resemble their real-life counterparts.

X-Men director Bryan Singer helms this biopic. Singer crafts an amazing film with depth and realness that make this film resonate with those who grew up with the sounds of Queen and those who didn't. Singer has made one of his best films to-date. The utter flashiness of the film is a sight to see and is one hell of a ride.

Though this film doesn't have a score, it has the discography of the band instead. The film uses the bands hit songs in a way that is uniquely fit in the film and also gives viewers an inside look at the crafting of each iconic song.

Mercury was a very eccentric and undoubtedly fashionable man. This film shows audiences that very aspect of the singer, while also adding a comedic light to all of the film, which is successfully incorporated here.

This film not only delves into the early days of Queen, but also the life of leading man Freddie. He's considered to be a gay-icon for many people but also a person who couldn't give a damn what people thought of him. What's so inspiring about this film is the struggle of the band in their early days. They faced adversity head on and overcame that flawlessly. Seeing this portrayed in film is unique and empowering.

"We will. we will. rock you!" One of the most iconic bands of all time gets the film treatment long overdue. You will be rockin' out to the film as this isn't just a biographical film, but a concert film. Showcasing the roller coaster career and personal life of Freddie is one of the greatest parts of this film. So grab your tickets to this film, because you'll want to see just how amazing this band and leading man Freddie Mercury really are.

Halloween (2018)

In my review of the original film, I hated on it, that all changed dramatically when I saw this sequel 40 years in the making. This film unlike its predecessor, is an entertaining film with quality. Yeah, given this films genre and the title, it's supposed to be scary as hell, but, it's actually a thrilling film with suspense.

This film has a lot to offer, given the 40 year wait for the reunion of the Shape aka (Michael Myers) and Laurie Strode. This film has at all, frights, edginess, suspense, and action sequences that are some of the best parts of the film. Halloween is a phenomenal film, which is one of the best films of the year by far.

This film has a very effective use of flashbacks to the 78' original. Flashbacks to the very beginning to where Michael killed his first victim. The flashbacks really help the film be as thrilling as if they weren't included.

Taking over the directing duties from jack-of-all trades John Carpenter, is David Gordon Green. Green makes a thrilling film, while still encompassing the style of Carpenters directing style. Green has made an authentic film that offers more thrilling and suspenseful qualities than frights.

When the original film came out in 1978, this was the first film audiences saw Jamie-Lee Curtis. Her character is a frightened woman forty years after Michael's demise, her granddaughter is now put in her position. Laurie, who's been suffering from agoraphobia since that Halloween night 40 years ago, is now ready for him to escape that mental institution.

Lee-Curtis does a great job in this film, way better than the original. Co-starring opposite Jamie-Lee Curtis, is the original Michael Myers actor, Nick Castle, Lee-Curtis' daughter on screen, Judy Greer and the granddaughter played by newcomer Andi Matichak. This cast does a great job at providing audiences with genuine performance and depth and curiosity.

Once again crafting an iconic score, is not only the creator of the franchise, John Carpenter, but his son Cody, and composer Daniel Davies. The films score is electric and edgy. The trio of composers put a modernized twist into Carpenters iconic theme while bringing a new edge of sound to the film.

The Halloween film genre can be a hit or a miss. But, this film is a total hit. This film is an outstanding film, its got edge and depth and complexity that you usually don't see in a film of this caliber. The direct follow-up of the 1978 original Halloween, does not disappoint.

Hocus Pocus (1993)

One of the best things about the fall season is not only the leaves and trees, its the annual Halloween movie marathon on Freeform. One of my personal favorite Halloween movies is the cult classic, critic hammered film Hocus Pocus. Yeah, this film may have been a disaster at the box office, but has. been a cultural phenomenon for two decades and will continue to be a classic phenomenon and cult favor

Long before director Kenny Ortega made the High School Musical films, he made this one. Cooking  up a witchy film, that is fun and exciting and one of the best films of the genre. The sets, costumes and special effects are fun and vibrant, they keep the film on the right path.

Veteran actresses: Bette Midler, Kathy Najimy and Sarah Jessica Parker are a witty and outright hilarious trio of comedic proportions. They add a balance that is equal and works in which the film is more entertaining. Co-stars: Omri Katz, Vinessa Shaw, Thora Birch and Jason Marsden are fantastic. They are the highlight of this film. The film has some of the most memorable one-liners & humor that make this one of the best halloween films.

Halloween (1978)

A staple in horror films for forty years,  [It] Halloween has aged like rotten cheese. It was good then, but this is now. This film isn't your typical scary movie. It's a slasher, thriller. Not only that, but, it is terrifying in that the score is extremely effective. While it's a great horror film of its time, I see this film in the 21st century, thinking that it'll be as scary as it was 40 years ago. I was dead wrong. When this film ended, I was like: "this was dumb and weird."

Jack of all trades, John Carpenter not only directed the film, but he is also responsible for creating the score, writing the film and producing. One of the films most thrilling aspects is every time Michael Myers appears on screen faceless, the films iconic theme is tuned in. That right there shows Carpenters original approach on directing and scoring.

In her first film, Jamie-Lee Curtis, plays a terrified high school student, one of Myers sisters, and a babysitter. She plays her character in a dramatic way, but a little to dramatic, and cheesy.

The films best parts are when for 1. are whenever Myers appears on screen, he is breathing heavily and that is one of the best, yet creepy, parts of this film. 2. Whenever he shows up, the theme plays. I give this film credit for at least trying to be somewhat scary.

Orchestrating the madness is director of the film, and composer John Carpenter. Carpenter not only makes a film so original and the least bit scary, he makes a score that is possibly more terrifying then the film itself.

This film doesn't even make the climb as being still a scary movie forty years later, with a variety of films of this kind coming out every year. The horror films nowadays can be even scarier than this or perhaps worse? No, this film isn't all that bad. I just think this film is an average scary movie. In retrospect, this film was scary when it debut 40 years ago, but 40 years later, it loses its scare factor.

Venom (2018)

Who says a villain can't have their own film? The infamous foe of Peter Parker (aka) Spider-Man gets his long-awaited film. This isn't your average superhero film. Well, in this case, "hero-villain", an oxymoron for the title character.  It [Venom] may seem all bad but he's actually the opposite of a villain. The symbiotic-alien, takes on a host, Eddie Brock, who's a flawed yet cunning character. Brock, played by Tom Hardy, who is no stranger to playing baddies, morphs into the creature in terrifying fashion. This film isn't your average superhero film, it's more of a villainous tale into one of Marvel's most terrifying creatures.

Unleashing terror one director at a time, is "Zombieland"  director Ruben Fleischer. Fleischer crafts a film that does not disappoint. His vision for creating this origin story, is exciting and thrilling every second. He adds insight to one of comic books most iconic villains. Granted that this films namesake is bad and scary, the villain is actually good in a way. He helps Brock defeat the films villain in the most badass way possible.

Playing Brock and the namesake Venom is Tom Hardy. Hardy is no stranger to playing a film baddie, Bane in "The Dark Knight Rises" and Praetor Shinzon in "Star Trek-Nemesis". Hardy brings his A-Game in this role. Co-starring is Michelle Williams as his love interest. Williams brings the film to a more emotionally sappy path alongside Hardy.

One of the most unexpected things this film has are the complex relationship between Brock and his body inhabitant Venom. It's complex because it shows a lighter and surprising side of the title character. This makes the film more interesting and gripping.

I do, however, have a few issues with this film. One, being the character of Dora Skirth. She's played by Jenny Slate, who has a high pitched, nasally voice. That and her character is unnecessary and makes the film drag on. Second, the film starts off slow but gradually gets better once we see Tom Hardy and Venom tag-team in action.

Organizing the music for this film, is composer Ludwig Goransson. Goransson, who is notable for scoring "Black Panther", score yet another comic book based film. He makes a plethora of electronic and fast paced sounds to keep the film on its feet.

"We are Venom". Based on one of comic books most terrifying baddies, is a film that finally brings audiences an inside scoop on how Venom/Eddie Brock came to be. This film is action-packed and detailed immensely, not only on the villain, but the whole film. It's terrifying yet comedic. This film ranks up to be one of many successful origin films of villains.

Operation Finale (2018)

In the latter years that followed the "Holocaust", a team of Israeli intelligence agents of the "Mossad" track down one of the living post-war architects of the "Final Solution". Adolf Eichmann, one of Hitler's confidante's, avoided being caught for his crimes and escaped to Buenos Aries, Argentina with his family in hiding. One of the most astounding feats and unfathomable was that he used a fake name to successfully enter the country. It's one of the most thrilling historical films to date. This film is stunning and is a testament of time and justice for the Jewish people.

Director Chris Weitz and writer Matthew Orton craft a vividly captivating film. Weitz who so eloquently creates a stunning biographical narrative with authenticity and finesse that audiences will  truly appreciate the art of this compelling film and its very important role in history. Meanwhile, Orton crafts a screenplay that is filled with tension and relentlessness.

Leading the charge is Oscar Isaac (Star Wars: The Force Awakens). Isaac plays the leader of the mission, Peter Malkin. Isaac plays Malkin in an intense and emotional take on the hero of the Jewish people. Playing the mastermind behind the mask, is Ben Kingsley (Ghandi). Kingsley plays the war criminal in cunning fashion. He's conniving and an emotional manipulator. His take on Eichmann is one of the best performances in a film with historical purpose.

One of the most effective parts of this film is inclusion of real footage of the mission, trial of Eichmann and the killings during the "Holocaust". Including these important parts makes the film as accurate and real as possible. This can get a little graphic despite its PG-13 rating, but it's as effective if it wasn't included in the film or if it was more detailed to receive an R rating.

Keeping the film more dramatic is composer Alexandre Desplat. Desplat (The King's Speech), makes a score as thrilling and dramatic as the film itself. It's edgy and dramatic to the highest levels.

One of the most daring and courageous of historical events has come to audiences globally. The men and women of the US equivalent to the CIA, Israel's "Mossad", as heroes that stood the test of time and with a race against the clock to capture one of the most notorious men of the Nazi Germany- Hitlerian regime. This film services the Jewish people and the 6 million fallen, justice and peace, which was fought ferociously to obtain. Even for those who aren't personally impact by this tragedy will certainly feel empathy and renewed sense of hope after watching this breathtaking film.

Monitoring his daily routine, Malkin and his operatives plot and execute the abduction under the cover of darkness just a few feet from Eichmann's home. Determined to sneak him out of Argentina to stand trial in Israel, Malkin and Eichmann engage in an intense and gripping game of cat-and-mouse.

The Happytime Murders (2018)

It's muppets gone bad. From the son of Jim Henson, comes a downright awful and obnoxious comedy. With  adult comedic films on the rise since 2016's "Sausage Party", it hasn't gotten any better, with the exception of both "Deadpool" films, adult tailored comedic films have been no entertaining experiences. This is perhaps the worst film of the year, in my opinion.

This entire movie is just utterly cringe worthy. Yeah things might seem promising from the surfaces, but this film is just too much for the people working on this film. For director Brian Henson, this film is just putting the legacy of his father right down the crapper. Henson tries too hard to emulate the talents of his father, who unlike his son, has made quality content meant for adults. I give Henson kudos for trying to entertain audiences, but it's just excruciating to watch with it's 90 minute runtime.

The writing on the otherhand, is some of the worst ever in a comedy and is completely lazy. A bit forced at getting reactions from audiences and it fails at being a quality film for a comedy, which puts the comedy film genre to shame and look completely dead.

She could've done better. Funny woman Melissa McCarthy leads this troubled film in a bad and unworthy way. She has more talent than this film recognizes. Alongside her, A blue puppet and Maya Rudolph. This blue puppet is one of the worst parts of this film and Rudolph is just annoying in this film. Suffice to say, this film is a career low for McCarthy and Rudolph, who gave us "Bridesmaids". Such a 360 difference in both films.

Trying to somewhat subdue the film of its disgustingly abhorrent qualities, is composer Christopher Lennertz. He makes a groovy score but it's not enough to make this film better.

Save your money at all costs. This film does have promising looks outside, inside it's just plain nasty. This film is a try-hard and it ultimately fails miserably at being a comedic film. The fact this film was made shows Jim Henson is rolling in his grave.

BlacKkKlansman (2018)

The untold story of a Colorado Police Officer infiltrating the notoriously disgusting "KKK" in the 1970's, is now a deeply powerful and disturbing motion picture. Colorado Springs Police rookie, Ray Stallworth, sets out on an investigation of the local "KKK" chapter. Doesn't that sound crazy? It's an unbelievably gripping take on a very important event in history. This film is rich in craft and has a sometimes excessive political bias. BlacKkKlansman is an authentic and rich true story narrative that aims to show a piece of history that has, not only had an impact on America but a global one as this film is a monumental achievement in both film and society.

Infiltrating the director's chair, is director Spike Lee. Lee offers a film to audiences that is not only a movie of a historical event, but a film on social issues and political ideologies in America. Lee writes the film with edge and sensationalism that is unlike anything ever seen in a film of a historical significance.

This film offers a cast that is jawdroppingly good. Playing Stallworth is the son of legendary actor Denzel Washington. John David Washington portrays him in a powerful, gripping and memorable performance. It's quite possibly one of the best lead male roles of the year.  Along for the ride, Adam Driver, who isn't only a Star Wars baddie, but a former US Marine. He makes playing Stallworths right hand man like it was easy, given his former occupation.

Co-starring in the film are: Topher Grace (That 70's Show) and Laura Herrier (Spider Man: Homecoming). Herrier and Grace give soulful performances. Grace playing David Duke and Herrier plays a local college student who is the president of the Black Student Union on campus. They give performances that embody the very definition of authentic and true.

Bringing more edge to the film is the music. Terence Blanchard makes a string filled composition blend in the film and is a big part in the films intensity.

This film is the kind of film that is spectacular but also hard to stomach, given its strong content- a film with mature and meaningful messages. I applaud Stallworth for his courageous and bold endeavors taking down hate. I also applaud Lee for telling a story that should be witnessed by audiences on a global scale. This film is definitely going to have negative and positive reactions from audiences. It's also a film that makes it the point of conversation amongst those who are old enough to remember this and those that weren't alive or old enough to grasp that this actually happened. This film was meant to be made, especially at a point in time where the film resonates perfectly into present day America and racial issues.

Mission Impossible- Fallout (2018)

Tom Cruise is like the "Energizer Bunny", the more films he does, the better the film is. In almost every film Cruise does, he is running like hell for some reason. He's been doing the Mission Impossible films since 1996, and it looks like this franchise shows no sign of ending just yet. It much like the "James Bond" and "Jason Bourne" films, brings a whole new level of complexity, suspense and action- which this franchise ups every time. Being pretty synonymous to "007", The "Mission Impossible" films are a unique and vivid set of suspense thrillers.

Very rarely do you see films directed by the same one director and they end up being good films. Director of both this installment and the 2015 predecessor "Rogue Nation", Christopher McQuarrie, helms yet another absolute stunner. Having written the screenplay in both of these films, McQuarrie adds more sophistication and cleverness to each film. This film has that quality of being better upon its prior films in that it has unrelenting depth throughout the film.

This franchise stands out from others in being that it has unbelievable action sequences in every film. This film has some of the best action scenes in any movie this year, apart from "Avengers: Infinity War", of course. I have no doubt audiences will be as thrilled and excited for the action in this film, as I was.

This film has an incredible cast beside its star, Tom Cruise. What's an incredible cast without its films insane action? The cast rounding out are: Simon Pegg (Benji), Rebecca Ferguson (Ilsa) Ving Rhames (Luther), Sean Harris (Solomon Lane) and Henry Cavill (Walker). This cast offers an exciting plot execution and dare devilish stunts -(Cruise stands out here, obviously). They make it one of the best films of the suspense-thriller genre of the year, possible the best of any since 2011's "Ghost Protocol"-the franchises fourth entry.

The film did something clever with its villains unsuspectingly. But going into this film I knew Cavill was up to no good. He played a sneaky and conniving CIA agent in a thrilling fashion. Overall, the films cast is exciting and memorable in which their performances enhance the films thrilling and exciting qualities.

I was surprised to hear the score comprised of drums in the film. It makes the film unique even more. Lorne Balfe scores this not so impossible mission in an upbeat and suspenseful way. Being based on a TV show from the 1960's, the film franchise uses each film to incorporate the shows now iconic theme. Like previous composers for the series, Balfe takes the theme and puts his own unique twist on it, making the film even more engaging.

Tom Cruise is one of Hollywood's greatest action films actor. Given he has made his marks through this franchise, I have no doubt he'll be an inspiration for other franchises like this. For over twenty years, audiences have been enthralled by the uniqueness and spy-like franchise that is "Mission Impossible". This franchise has been a phenomenon at the box office and from the likes of things, this franchise will continue to succeed not only financially, but as it's craft- a brilliantly developed film series.

A Quiet Place (2018)

What would you do if you had to live your life in complete silence? There's a catch to it though, you're being hunted by demonic aliens that hunt you when you make any noise. For the Abbott family, they live like it's the norm. Taking place in the not-so-distant 2020's, the world is a wasteland of sound makers and all that's left are those who are willing to do anything it takes to survive, even if that means silent living. This film is a standout of epic proportions. The acting. Adrenaline. Suspense. This film is one of the most original in decades.

Making his outstanding directorial debut, John Kransinski, makes a film so edgy, sharp and poignant from start to finish. Krasinski makes the film a unique horror-thriller. He uses sign-language in the film completely, as this is the only way for the family in the film to communicate. He also has chosen to cast a real deaf actor in the role of his characters daughter. A typical teen, a little feisty and rebellious-that's adolescence for ya. This new star, Millicent Simmonds, is brilliant in her first major role. She uses her disability to an advantage and is a key role to her and her family's survival and communicating.

On the other hand, Krasinski's off screen wife, actress Emily Blunt, stars as the wife of her husbands character. She is also a standout part of the film. Blunt's onscreen persona is heart pounding and authentic. Blunt, with the rest of the film, makes an impressive performance.

The action and dramatic efforts in this film are no near inadequate. It's crafted in a detailed fashion and it is astounding. The creatures that hunt the family are created in a spider look and a dinosaur way. They're simply, one of the best demonic creatures of the horror film genre.

Composer Marco Beltrami captures the fear of sound for this film. It's the kind of score you expect in a film like this. Edgy and rapid, yet slow and stringy.

One of the very few films to incorporate disability in a major film, this one gets that job done. It's spectacular and bravo to John Krasinski for taking that step to add disability into mainstream motion pictures.  This film is perhaps one of the best horror films i've ever seen and should standout to others as an impressive and edgy film.

Ant-Man and The Wasp (2018)

This film is no feat too big or too small. This film is just, to put it plain and simple: Exciting. In 2015, "Marvel" gave audiences a new film on a pint sized superhero "Ant-Man". Three years later, an even more entertaining film more than the sequel. One of the most uninteresting hero's, became interesting.Superheros are not just one size fits all, they come in all shapes and sizes. 2018 has been the year of some of the best superhero films ever. This film joins the ranks of this years best superhero films, quite frankly, one of "Marvel's" best sequels to a film.

Director of the first film, Peyton Reed, is back at another round for this sequel. Reed, who created an amusing and action-packed first film does it again, this time funnier in the sequel. It's one of the few "Marvel" films that takes humor to new levels and incorporates that into the film as part of it's story and characters.

Once a superhero. Always a superhero. Back at it again, is our Ant-Man, aka Scott Lang, aka Paul Rudd. Rudd, who has made an even bigger name for himself as the self titled "Ant-Man", does a great job once more. While also suiting up again, is Evangeline Lilly. Lilly plays Hope Pym and the "Wasp". She portrays her characters in excellent style. Lily makes her character exciting and is one of the highlights of the film. One of the more memorable female characters in any "Marvel" film.

Rounding out the cast are: Michael Pena, Michael Douglas and Michelle Pfeiffer. Pena is the comedic relief of the film, just like he was in the first film. Douglas plays the tech genius and father of Hope in a funny yet serious role. Whereas Pfeiffer plays long lost mother to Hope and wife of Douglas' character, who is also the original Wasp and Douglas was the original Ant-Man. They all play an important part in the film and they add to the pizazz of the film.

Let me tell you, Lilly and Rudd have amazing chemistry in the film. The instantaneous connection they have on screen is clearly palpable. They make the film even better and more entertaining than ever before. One of the "MCU's" best superhero pairs.

Scoring the joy-ride of a film is returning composer Christophe Beck. Beck creates melodic and punchy sounds that keep the film going strong. With a very fitting theme for Ant-Man, Beck makes a score perfect for this film.

Despite some prejudgements three years ago when the first film came out, I was blown away with it and ended up liking the movie. On top of that, is the utter brilliance when it comes to the shrinkage concepts and how it played out in both films. Marvel typically adds humor in most of their films, but this is just one if not the funniest film and best sequel to any film in the "MCU".

Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom (2018)

Too big of a leap? I say yes. The follow-up to the 2015 film: "Jurassic World", continues as a very action packed film with dynamite dinos, but it ultimately ends up falling flat, disappointing fans of this beloved franchise. While it has already made impressive box office totals, it isn't much for fans of the series or fans of science fiction films. One Dino step for man. One dino leap for dino kind. This film may have all to fill your dino fix, but this film is lazy in it's craft.

J.A Bayona directs this film in an exciting way, but drags on with lazy writing, unenthusiastic acting and way too dramatic for a film like this. Although, Bayona does get a few things right in the film. Exciting action sequences and special effects. Despite these two positives they don't outweigh the numerous negatives.

You think being in lots of "Marvel" movies, the actors in other films would be able to continue their successful stints as superheros, they would deliver in films not superhero related. In this case, Chris Pratt, one highly respectable and talented actor, has made two movies in the franchise, and although he a good actor in various "Marvel" films, his work in this film is some of the worst acting in a film this year. Opposite Pratt, daughter of director Ron Howard, is Bryce-Dallas Howard. She, like Pratt, offer some of the worst acting in a film this year.

Don't even get me started on how predictable this film is. It is ridiculous. Even if the filmmakers try to make it seem like this film isn't predictable, they are wrong. The level of predictability in this film is one of the other reasons why this film in not good.

Even though this film plagues audiences of weak acting and predictability, Michael Giacchino, who score the predecessor, is back at another round of jurassic sounds and brass. Giacchino tries to make this film better with its score, while only being one of few positives of this film.

Wreaking havoc one dinosaur at a time. In this case, the wreckers are the story writers and screenplay crafters. Other science fiction films would be utterly disappointed in this one, it's that bad. This films predecessor should've been a one and done film on its own.

Incredibles 2 (2018)

The time has come. Back in 2004, audiences witnessed an extraordinary film. Now 14 years later, that film gets a sequel, long-awaited might I add. The sequel to my favorite animated movie, "The Incredibles" has arrived. Much to the anticipation, 14 years in the making, this sequel delivers. It's got the expected incredible action, humor and heart. Pixar has made yet another film, that delivers for fans of the highly popular franchise.

Within minutes of the first films ending has past. This sequel picks right up where the first film left off. This film smoothly picks up answering all questions viewers had after watching the first film. Cliffhanger much?

Director Brad Bird returns to helm the sequel. Bird, as no surprise, makes another phenomenal "Pixar" delight. Bird makes this film even more sophisticated than the original. I couldn't get enough of it. This film is an extremely remarkable film. The vision. The dedication. And the overall feel of this film is excitement and it will no doubt be one of "Pixar's" best films.

What's a legendary film without its super cast? Consider it not legendary. Well, luckily, you don't have to worry. Your favorite characters are once again voiced by their original voice actor. An Incredible cast, lead by: Craig T. Nelson (Mr. Incredible), Holly Hunter (Elastigirl), Sarah Vowell (Violet) and of course Samuel L. Jackson (Frozon). Oh and did I forget to mention, "E", everyones favorite fashion guru is back. This film is jampacked with everyone and it's spectacular.

The sequel also offers fresh new faces. Voiced by: Bob Odenkirk, Cathrine Keener and Isabella Rossellini along with new supers play a big role in the film and the supers quest to rid the world of evil once more. A very strange new evil, "the screenslaver" makes it their mission to rid the world of supers due to an incident from "Screenslavers" past. This villain is much darker than "Syndrome"- the first films villian.

Composer Michael Giacchino is back for round two for a score even more classical and mesmerizing as his score from the original film. Giacchino makes new and fresh sounds to every tense, action packed, humorous moments in this film. Giacchino's score is pleasing to the ears at best.

The film has also got a lot of humor, more than the first film. Standing out as one of the films comedic stars is little Jack-Jack. As viewers know from the first film, he shows off one of his powers in a brief scene that shows just one of his many gifted abilities. The latter of his powers are debuted in this film. The way they're shown and what are his abilities are is one of the biggest parts of the films laughter efforts.

14 years later, and here we are. One of the years most anticipated (My most anticipated) film of 2018, is here! I am a sucker for a good (great) animated film. The "Incredibles 2"  has delivered. It has become a staple in not only one of Cinema's best animated films, but also "Pixar's".

Ocean's 8 (2018)

Hollywood has seen a rise in female driven films. This film adds to the list of films who have female driven casts. This film is exciting and glamorous in every way. The female version of the "Ocean's" films, which starred: George Clooney and Matt Damon, is now in a category of it's own. Heist films are in a sense a genre that hooks audiences in the try to not get caught notion. This film is one  of those films that standout from other films of this nature.

Director Gary Ross (Free State of Jones, The Hunger Games) is the real artist here. Ross makes an enjoyable film and an action coveted feature. It's clever, it's humorous and bold. Some of Ross's highlights in this film are the style and grit of the leading ladies in the film. The costumes are also standouts for the film. Makes it pop.

Leading the heist is a cast lead by: Sandra Bullock. Bullock, along with Cate Blanchett, Anne Hathaway, Rihanna, Helena Bonham-Carter and Mindy Kaling are a magnificent group of ladies who make the impossible, possible. What is that you may wonder? Well, you're going to have see the movie to find out.

Keeping the film more interesting is composer Michael Pemberton. Pemburton makes sounds of bright and classic scores fit just right in the grand scheme of the things this movie has to offer.

Heist films are a unique band of films that have a complex and riveting story. This film showcases just that. Not only does "Ocean's 8" embody the fact that women can do the same things as a man (being a con artist), this film stands as one of many films that are yet to come for the heist film genre.

Deadpool 2 (2018)

He's back! Everyone's favorite "Merc with a mouth" is back for another round of profanity laced humor and gruesome butt kicking. There is no one superhero who is as humorous as cancer stricken turned facially deformed superhero Wade Wilson. Ryan Reynolds plays Deadpool once again in spectacular fashion and "I can't believe he just said (did) that" feeling. Since Reynolds first outing as the potty-mouthed Deadpool, the iconic character returns in an even more diabolically twisted sense of comedy in this sequel.

Director David Leitch makes the film in a way that is as expected, a toilet humor, slapstick comedy with graphic and hilarious action sequences. While it also tends to jab at other superheros, purposefully insulting it's no doubt Leitch has made one of his best films.

Yes, by now you already know that "God's perfect idiot" stars in this film as the title character. What I mean by "God's perfect idiot" is that I'm referring to Ryan Reynolds. He is not the only star here. We've also got a Charlie's Angel or in this case (Wades angel), Josh Brolin's Cable package, a dominoes pizza delivery girl, silver Goliath and a moody teenager are also in the film. They all  play a vital part in the hilarity at play here. It works. They all give audiences a run for their money. The cast is one of the best, in terms of comedic films.

The best parts of this film is the jabs at other superheros, the films production company (Fox) and the actors in the film itself. This alone is why audiences love the foul mouthed hero. The action on the otherhand, is a lot more nasty than in the first film. It's cringy, funny and painfully amusing to watch.

Master Maestro Tyler Bates crafts the score for the sequel. Bates makes the film more inappropriate. Unlike the first films score, this film has one of the most unique score I've ever listened to. It has profanity in the score. This makes it all the better. And while also capturing intense moments with electronic and string sounds.

You can't stop this MFer! He's right. He can't be stopped, because there is no stopping him. Audiences across the globe first bared witness to the foul-mouthed anti-hero in 2016. Since then, our favorite potty-mouthed anti-hero has returned. Audiences, heed my friendly warning, this film may likely cause side splitting laughter. Yes, the film is that funny.

Solo: A Star Wars Story (2018)

Long ago in a galaxy far away, were two pals kicking intergalactic butt and saving the galaxy. For over forty years cinema has given us the dynamic duo of Han Solo and his wookie partner-in-crime, Chewie aka Chewbacca. This film gives us an inside look of how the title character began and how the friendship of every ones favorite wookie and Han Solo came to be. Solo is surely to be one of many exciting spin off films in the world of "Star Wars".

Lurking from not so far away, is controversy. The early stages of the film experienced drama within the original helmers. "Jump Street" directors Christopher Miller and Phil Lord were originally tapped to direct the film but got fired for creative differences. Ron Howard was the replacement and oh man does Howard do this film justice.

Ron Howard is a director I couldn't imagine making a "Star Wars" film. But after seeing his first go at a Star Wars film, I was pleasantly surprised at Howard's vision and style. He makes the film with your typical iconic music and special effects along with the Millennium Falcon. Howard crafts by all means necessary, an exciting and exhilarating venture.

This cast is nothing short of fun. Playing young Solo, is Alden Ehrenreich. His portrayal of the iconic Harrison Ford character is awesome and memorable. Ehrenreich makes Solo a stand out character, rightfully so because it's the title character. He has a tough act to follow, and he makes out an impressive portrayal of the beloved character. Rounding out the cast:"Game of Thrones" Emilia Clarke, "Avengers" Paul Bettany and Hunger Games' Woody Harrelson. They are an exciting group in this backstory film of one of Cinema's most beloved characters.

Also featured in the film is a young Lando Calrissian, the iconic Billy Dee Williams character. Playing young Lando is Donald Glover, aka Childish Gambino. In all honesty, young Lando is a selfish guy. But that doesn't stop Lando. Glover makes due as the iconic character in a love-hate kind of way.

Some of the best things in this movie are the small things. One of the most surprising things this film had to offer was humor. It offers humor in gabs at its characters. While also providing the audience with laughter not typically seen in the "Star Wars" films.  Standing out for me as the best parts of the film was Han and Chewies first encounter. That scene alone was the best part of the movie for me.

What's a "Star Wars"  movie without John Williams mesmerizing scores? Considered it not a Star Wars film at all. But I am so glad that this film has those iconic melodies. Scoring this new film is John Powell. Powell, with the assistantance of Williams, crafts a big and melodic sound for the film that keeps the film zooming in hyperspeed.

If there's any negatives about this movie, it's a useless droid. L3-37, a new droid not seen in other films in the space saga. L3 for short, makes this film annoying even without trying to. Her presence is not needed. We would have been better off if C-P30  was in this film instead of the annoying L3.

You can bet this film is a showstopper. This film in all honesty, is way better than the sorry-excuse of a spin off that is "Rogue One". The two films are unrelated but are complete opposites. One, being an enjoyable film (this one) and the other being complete trash. For over forty years, cinema has given audiences world wide one of the most iconic friendships of two amazing characters. This film doesn't disappoint in entertaining and giving audiences a first look at what is to come for the two friends. Even if that means including a useless character in the film that trys so effortlessly to make the film go from entertaining to boring.
