Soul (2020)

The irresistibility of "Pixar" films is their charm and uniqueness. Audiences fawn over their films because of their ability to connect to audiences and leave an impact on them. The studios' recent hits like "Onward" and "Inside Out" are some of the studios' other features that have had an emotional intensity to them which made them a mature in nature film as well. This new film is another emotional film with stunning animation.

It keeps getting more and more adult every time a new film from "Pixar" comes out and I don't see that changing any time soon because the studio has found a way to make films more grown-up than in years past.

Starring in the film is Jamie Foxx and Tina Fey. Foxx stars as the lead protagonist, a band teacher who dreams of being a famous jazz musician. His performance in the film is entertaining, joyous, and exuberant in nature. It also comes across as comedic at times which is a plus. Tina Fey's character and performance are just as likable as her costar and it is just as comedic.

Like with every film "Pixar" has made, the animation is dazzling and spectacular. This film remains within the range of dazzling animation and is as big of a spectacle as you would imagine a film from the studio to be. Director Pete Docter once again showing off his talent in this next "Pixar" film. The film shines everywhere. From the magical animation, the deep thought-provoking premise, and the music, this film is one of the other films in the mature-grown-up category of films from the studio.

Scoring the magnificent film is  Trent Reznor, Jon Batiste, Atticus Ross. The trio of music makers creates a score that is jazzy and rhythm and blues. It also at times is electric and upbeat. The score is a perfect element to blend with the ambiance of the film altogether.

Despite the unique and magic qualities of the film, I had noticed a few things I thought were offputting. These things include the character designs that I thought were wacky and unlike other films from the studio in the past. I also thought that the story, no matter the uniqueness of it is, I think it was a bit all over the place. It went everywhere without any idea to make sense of the film overall, which may throw viewers off a bit.

One of the best things about animated films is their ability to enchant audiences with dazzling imagery and an interesting story. "Pixar" is no exception to this standard. With each and every film they make the animation and stories are all stellar beyond expectations. This film may fall a bit short of films before it, but it still is another solid animated feature from "Pixar".

Wonder Woman: 1984 (2020)

Three years following the blockbuster smash hit "Wonder Woman", a follow-up to the smash hit proves to be more than a fantastic sequel. It is worth the long wait. This film ups its game on every level. The action is even more packed than the previous installment. The sheer awe and wonder of this film are overwhelmed with joy and entertainment that this film cannot be missed out for fans of superhero films and fans of "Wonder Woman". The film will be a hit for decades to come.

Fans of the first film fell in love with leading woman Gal Gadot in her role as "Wonder Woman". Her outing once again as the lasso swinging heroine is irresistible and undoubtedly fun. Her portrayal of the mighty warrior is outstanding and I fell in love all over again with the character. Not only does she shine in the film but new faces to the franchise: Kristen Wiig and Pedro Pascal are some of the best villains in the DC Comics "Extended Universe" so far.

What took me by surprise was Kristen Wiig's casting as the villain because she is more of a comedic actress and not dramatic as her character in the film. Her role as villain number one, "Cheetah", is unexpectedly a good one and very entertaining. Meanwhile, Pedro Pascals role as villain number two, "Maxwell Lord" is just as conniving and deceitful as "Cheetah". His portrayal is also very surprising to say the least.

Returning to helm this sequel is Patty Jenkins. She was practically a not-so well known filmmaker three years ago prior to the first film and is now an amazing director once again with this installment to the DC "Extended Universe". Her work with this film is energetic and action-packed once again. It may be more exciting than the 2017 original. Jenkins does it again at proving to make her mark as a director of superhero films.

The film is brought to a modern age in the 1980's so colorfully which I think is a major achievement. Seeing the film take place in a pivtol and exciting decade in history gives audiences the ability to see "Wonder Woman" experience the modern world for the first time. With the classic 80's imagery of malls and other shopping outlets, it's cause for reminiscing and nostalgia.

Legendary composer Hans Zimmer,"The Dark Knight Trilogy, Man of Steel and Batman vs. Superman: Dawn of Justice" returns at making his craft in a superhero film. Zimmer isn't a stranger to these films and he knows exactly how to make a film be as lively as it can be with his music for the film. His theme for Wonder Woman used in "Batman Vs. Superman" returns in an updated version and incorporated throughout the whole film. He once again makes an incredible score for a superhero film.

She has been an iconic character for decades. The eponymously titled "Wonder Woman" gets an adaptation worth waiting for and definitely worth watching. When the first film came out, it was the first of its kind in the DC "Extended Universe", a standalone heroine film. Now that a sequel follows, it remains one of the best franchises in the DC "Extended Universe", but this film is an absolutely marvelous spectacle that will delight audiences everywhere.

Mulan (2020)

A new thing now is to reboot films. But if you're "Disney", you are going to remake your animated classics.  Almost all of the films Disney has made within the last 30 years and even some years before that have gotten the reboot treatment. The 1998 original Mulan, is the latest film to get the reboot treatment. It's completely different from the original film. So much more action, stunning visuals, and a new take on the classic animated film are some of the few remakes from "Disney" that actually does better than expected. This is one of the best remakes to one of the studios' classic animated films.

Actress Liu Yifei stars as the main character and absolutely kills it in the film. Her portrayal of the iconic Disney character is more developed in that the audiences a new look at the character in a different and unique way. She is fierce and fits really well in the character altogether. Her take on the character is fresh and draws audiences into the new world in Mulan.

Director Niki Caro helms this remake and makes it as exciting as the original film, despite important differences No songs and Mushu the dragon. But the film is still entertaining. However, it is one of the darker and more mature remakes from "Disney". The reason being is the action sequences and the stunts in the film. Due to these factors, the film is the first reboot from the studio to receive a PG-13 rating. It seems to top the original film in that aspect. Caro's vision stays true in honoring the legacy of the 1998 animated original. This will delight audiences even if it misses some key moments.

The same old story just an updated telling of it. The film's writing isn't that good but it's not all the way terrible. I just think it could've been better in the aspects of the emotional connection and story lacking a fresh authentic feel like it's new and completely separate from the original film. Other than that, this film is a solid remake and another good film from "Disney".

Scoring this remake is Harry Gregson-Williams. The score is enchanted with sounds that dominate Chinese culture which makes this film even more entertaining and it fits right into it. It is as exciting as the film itself.

One of the biggest trends in the film industry now is rebooting films in a live-action format in which the originals were animated. This reboot of one of "Disney's" animated hits is a great one but also a bit more on the darker side. Though the writing could've been a lot better, and some key moments from the original film were left out, this film still proves to be another exceptional and albeit very surprising to audiences, a great film.

Borat Subsequent Moviefilm (2020)

If there is a film in 2020 that is the edgiest and most outrageous film of the year, it is this film. The sequel to controversial comedian Sacha Baron Cohen's 2006 "Borat" is one of the most ridiculous films I have ever seen. There are so many things wrong with this film and that's what makes it a great comedic film. I have to say this film is just outrageous as "South Park". It is one of the funniest films of the year.

This film follows the exploits of the aforementioned character and his mission to deliver his daughter to VP Mike Pence. Borat and his daughter travel throughout the US and partake in ridiculous ventures. This film is made as a joke that all people in the film are believing that Sacha Baron Cohen's character is real, as they are unsuspecting as the character interacts with them in real-time. It is absolutely bonkers and filled with dark humor throughout the whole movie and that's what will win over fans of the comedian and comedic films overall.

Cohen's screenplay and director Jason Woliner's craft is undoubtedly one of the weirdest yet effective styles I have ever seen in a comedic film. It is unlike any comedic film I have ever seen. It blew me away and had me laughing so hard I was crying. The jokes and scenes in this film are undeniably offensive to lots of people in our world and it may not sit well with viewers in these groups.

This film completely ignores the fact that this is a movie with terrible acting. The screenplay and the gags are the bread and butter of the film and that's why it makes up for the extremely cringeworthy acting. The film is downright hilarious on so many levels but yet somehow with the terrible acting, the film manages to still get laughs out of viewers.

It is perhaps the funniest movie of the year. The dark humor, ridiculous gags, and poking fun at our world in 2020 is why this film is indeed the best comedic film of the year. Its edginess and offensive material may not be for everyone but this film gets the job done with all its absurdity.

TENET (2020)

One of the things all of the films made by director Christopher Nolan is that they all make you think. They make you wonder about certain elements of thought and science. His latest mind-blowing visceral thriller is nothing short of phenomenally crafted especially due to the stunning action sequences. This film is one of the only blockbusters released this summer during this pandemic and it is definitely worth returning to the theaters. The thing about this film is that it is unique in every sense of the word. Its plot may be a bit hard to follow at times, but the action and the score are able to make up for that. Overall, this film is yet another mindblowing spectacle from Christopher Nolan.

Director and Writer Christopher Nolan's latest film is a mindboggling brain play thriller. Not only is his work here a brain teaser but the film title a palindrome. This shows once again that Christopher Nolan is a wordsmith with excitingly clever intentions. His work is once again as thrillingly entertaining as audiences expect from Nolan himself. It is his most ambitious rollercoaster of an action film yet. Even though this film is hard to decipher and it will continue to confuse you till after the film is over, the action in the film is a great and effective enough to handle its intricately convoluted all over the place plot.

Lead John-David Washington's "The Protagonist" is remarkable and fierce. The character is very determined and complex throughout the whole film. His performance is action-packed and emotionally dedicated to the entire film. Starring opposite Washington is Elizabeth Debicki, Robert Pattinson, and Kenneth Branagh. They are all standout supporting roles that impact this film to make it even better than ever. Pattinson and Debecki give some of the best performances of the year alongside Washington. The chemistry of these three together onscreen is phenomenally apparent.

Frequent music collaborator with Nolan, Hans Zimmer did not reunite in this film. Instead, Ludwig Goransson teams up with Nolan on this spy thriller. Goranssons score is an exhilarating composition of music. The energy and force of it are what adds to the film's thrill factor all in all.

One of the most fascinating spectacles of this film is the camera work and the gravity-defying action sequences. Hoyte Van Hoytema's camera work is truly exciting and one of the best parts of this film overall.

There's nothing more pulsating and intense than a film by Christopher Nolan. His latest creation, a slightly hard to follow complex film is perhaps successful due in part by the stunning action sequences and the score. This film is also very reminiscent of his 2010 film "Inception" in regards to the action and camera work. If you have seen that film, you will love this film. But either way, this film shows just once again how narratively talented Christopher Nolan really is. With the lack of blockbusters this year due to the pandemic, this film bursts on the screen as audiences return to the Cinema. Despite its bit of confusing plot, the action makes up for that confusion. This film is Nolan's most brain-busting film yet.

Bill and Ted: Face The Music (2020)

It's been over 30 years since audiences were first introduced to the goofy exploits of surfer talkin' buddies Theodore "Ted" Logan (played by Keanu Reeves once again) and William "Bill" S. Preston Esq. (played once again by Alex Winter.) Ever since their debut in 1989's "Excellent Adventure", they come back stronger and funnier than ever. Though the film sometimes does go by a bit slow, this film brings back the nostalgia of the original film.

Director Dean Parisot honors the original film in most excellent fashion. His quirky vision of a goofy comedy is enjoyable to the max and is a great buddy comedy film. Some of the jokes may fall flat, but overall, this film is a good enough film in this very strange time right now. The film's dry humor is enough to get some laughs but I think that the story is much more feasible than the jokes.

It is very similar to that of the "Dumb & Dumber" films. Though this film series hasn't gained a cult following like the "Dumb & Dumber" films, this series is still as enjoyable. With this film, the returning leads deliver delight in a film that is a breath of fresh in the age of uncertainty we are living in right now. Keanu Reeves and Alex Winter are a comedic duo for the ages and may get a little too over the top however, they make this film just as exciting as the original film.

But the real scene-stealers of the movie are the daughters of their characters. Played by Bridgette Lundy-Paine and Samara Weaving, they are just as goofy yet slightly obnoxious versions of "Bill and Ted" themselves. They are able to give that same level of comedic effect as the main characters. They bring new light to the franchise with a sense of humor that the original had done before.

Scoring the goofy film is Mark Isham. Isham's score is a blend of fast-paced and delicateness that makes this film just as entertaining. It is able to keep the film on its toes with his score that goes well with the film altogether.

Despite all the action sequences and the goofy antics of the characters, this film is good enough to sustain laughter from audiences, but I think this film may not win over everyone who has not seen the original 1989 film. So, even if you have seen the original film, I would say just give this film a try, even if it struggles a bit while trying to live up to the original film.

Inception (2010)

It is one of the most thrilling and mind-boggling films of the past decade. It has remained one of the great action thrillers since its release. It has intense action and a stellar cast are what makes this film one of the most iconic thrillers of the past decade. It has a unique and compelling narrative that will entertain audiences for decades because of its thrill factor.

Unlike other films in the thriller heist genre, this film is unique in every sense of the word. The cerebral force of this film is unlike anything you have ever seen in a film. I have no doubt in my mind that this film because of its action, story, and intense upbeat score from Hans Zimmer, will win over audiences still to this day.

Not only does director Christopher Nolan make one of his best films, its one of the best films period. What Nolan manages to accomplish here is nothing short of amazing and utterly breathtaking. Christopher Nolan has made an outstanding film and its story is one that makes you think throughout the entire film. His visceral storytelling and visuals are topnotch.

Inceptions lead in Leonardo DiCaprio is fantastic. His role is one of his finest roles and makes this film what it is, phenomenal. Starring alongside DiCaprio in this mind-bending film are Tom Hardy, Ellen Page, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, and Marion Cottilard. Their supporting roles in this film are just as exciting alongside DiCaprio and they do a phenomenal job overall.

This film would not be near as exciting as it is without the works of Hans Zimmer, who is a frequent collaborator with Nolan and his films. Zimmers craft here is fast-paced and upbeat yet ethereal. This remains one of Zimmer's best compositions to date.

It's been 10 years since the release of "Inception", and it still remains as exciting as it was then when it was first released. It's one of the most mindblowing films ever made and with its stunning camera work and utter majesty, this film remains one of the greatest films not only by Christopher Nolan but one of the best films ever made.

The Old Guard (2020)

Not many of the original films on "Netflix" impress me, but this one sure did. This film is one of the very few original films on the streaming service that is actually very entertaining. It has great action sequences and a confident lead in Charlize Theron. This film is one of the few delights to come out during the "Coronavirus Pandemic" that is actually worth watching. It may not win over those who don't like violence, but it sure will win over those who do like a good action-packed and violent film.

Based on a comic book of the same name, this film is a reimagined take on a new kind of superheroes. The work here is exciting and brings new life to the 2020 film slate. Director Gina Prince-Bythewood makes an undeniably exciting film in these challenging times. Her craft is as exciting as any other film of its kind but even better than some. It may be dark and disturbing but it's one hell of an action film.

Lead star Charlize Theron has probably given her best performance in this crazy action thriller. She is the glue that sticks this film together. She makes this film so enjoyable and it's very telling. Her costars KiKi Layne, Marwan Kenzari, and Luca Marinelli give this film an even bigger boost alongside Theron and the action of this film.

Not only does this film have an interesting and compelling story, but this film's action sequences are just as exciting as the story. The action in this film is some of the best in terms of films this year so far. I have no doubt audiences will enjoy this film just as much as I did.

One of the very few films to come out on "Netflix"  during this time is one big achievement for moviegoers because nothing blockbuster has been released as of yet. This film is one of the few gems to come from the streaming giant and not be a total let down. I have no doubt that this film will fully entertain audiences.

Scoob! (2020)

One of the most popular and beloved cartoons of "Hanna-Barbera" gets an all-new film. The ever-iconic "Scooby-Doo" gets a new film that is just as loveable as you would expect. It has given new life into the iconic cartoon in this new film. It gives audiences a beautifully animated and downright hilarious film. Even after so many years since its debut in 1969, it has remained an icon in animated television, and now iconic in film. This brand new animated film is true to the legacy of the original show and I think fans of the iconic dog and crew will love this film.

Director Tony Cervone makes the film live up to the legacy of the original show. It is charming and overall fun that I think audiences both new and those who are familiar with the iconic character will enjoy the film. He makes the film as exciting as the show itself. The film is not only beautifully animated, but it also has an entertaining story. This film also has some adult humor that will go over the heads of kids, that I think will ultimately win over parents.

The film's voice cast is star-powered. With the talent of Zac Efron, Amanda Seyfried, Gina Rodriguez, Mark Wahlberg, and the original voice of the iconic dog, Frank Welker. This cast is lively and they make the film even more exciting. With Welker returning to voice the iconic character, this is cause for nostalgia.

Scoring the film is Tom Holkenborg "Black Mass". His score is as jubilant and energetic as the film itself. It is an exciting and upbeat score that makes the film stick together overall.

Though this film is exciting, it does struggle at the forefront at times. Some of the writing of the film falls flat in the comedic efforts and dialogue, but it still is a good movie overall. The jokes can sometimes be a bit cringe-like and the characters sometimes act as a placement just to be there when they don't need to be. But the film compensates for the action and overall beauty which is what I think ultimately drives the film.

One of the televisions' most iconic characters gets a revamped new storytelling in film. Though it sometimes falls short, the beauty of the animation and the exciting action sequences are what drive the film to succeed. Overall, this film may not win over fans of the original show with this new film, but it will win over a new generation of fans.

Gone With The Wind (1939)

Based on the best selling 1936 novel by Margaret Mitchell, this film adaptation is nothing short of an American cinema classic. Since its release in 1939, it has remained one of and if not the greatest film ever. It also just happens to be the highest-grossing film of all-time with inflation. This Civil War epic is a perfect picture of the tumultuous time period and is crafted utterly elegantly. With it being one of the longest films ever made, it packs in a ton. Despite its controversial reception from today's modern era of film audiences, it still is an iconic film unlike anything in the history of cinema. It is a timeless cinematic gem.

Director Victor Fleming & Producer David O. Selznick's masterpiece of cinema is a true treasure of the cinematic arts. This film paints the biggest picture of the "Civil War" and its utter beauty is a sight to behold. The film is massively crafted. With its stunning sets and scenery, this film takes viewers into the era of the "Civil War" in such grace and utter flawlessness.

What makes this film brilliant is the story itself, but also the incredible cast. Leads Clark Gable & Vivien Leigh are utterly fantastic in this film. Their chemistry is perhaps the greatest of any film duo to date. This cast broke lots of barriers too. Costarring as "Mammy", a black house servant, is Hattie McDaniel (who later won an Oscar for Best Supporting Actress for the role, and the first black actor to win an Oscar.) Leslie Howard & Olivia de Havilland also star in the film. This cast is remarkable in every sense of the word. It's clear that this film set the standard for cast ensembles because this cast is amazing.

Composer Max Steiner's legendary score is just as iconic today, as it was 80 years ago with the film's original release. His theme for the film is an instant classic, everyone who hears the theme they know exactly where it's from. With a beautiful film to go along with it, this score is beyond beautiful.

Given that the film is based in the "Civil War" era, it is not a real story. Regardless, this film is an utter masterpiece. Times have changed. Audiences decades later may feel sour about the film, but I highly beg to differ that this film is offensive or controversial nowadays.

It has been decades since the film was first released, and it has even been rereleased throughout the years as well. With how groundbreaking and remarkable this film is, I feel in awe every time I watch it. The legacy of this film has made an enormous impact on cinema, and I have zero doubt in my mind that this film's legacy and historical representation will not fade anytime soon.

Citizen Kane (1941)

It has been considered the greatest film of all time by film critics ever since its release in 1941. I quite frankly have to agree with them. It's intricate and complex narrative is one of the most entertaining of all time. The Orson Welles classic is a truly American film. It's a film that must be seen by everyone whether you live the "American Dream" or not, this film is beyond imaginative and renews a human spirit in us that even the most successful of people among us have their demons.

It embodies the "American Dream" in such a way that it is as authentic then as it remains the same almost 80 years later. I have no doubt that this tale of the "American Dream" will remain that way for decades to come. Welles's creation is an extraordinary tale of the rise and fall of what the "American Dream" can be.

Iconic actor and director Orson Welles's first film is one of the most unique of all time. His vision of intricacy and bewilderment is pulled off very elegantly and savvily. The direction is unique and is one of the most underappreciated ever. The narrative is as complex and unique as its direction is. What the film manages to do is put audiences on edge and keep them wondering throughout the whole film. This film remains an underappreciated cinematic gem that audiences must watch.

Not only did Welles direct and write the film, but he is also the star of the iconic motion picture. His iconic role as the newspaper tycoon. It's one of the single greatest performances by an actor in any film. He is a brute force onscreen and delivers an extraordinary performance as the successful yet embattled Charles Foster Kane. His performance is memorable, to say the least, and it shows just how impactful the film is overall.

Iconic film composer Bernard Herrmann's score is as iconic as the film itself. Herrmann's score has just as much elegance as the film itself. It remains just as iconic after so many years just like the film overall.

The legacy of this film is ever-present. The iconic film has one of the cinemas most meaningful stories. It is a story of failure and success and should be seen by everyone. This film is more relevant than ever before with its allegorical presence. With masterful storytelling, bombastic performances, and a crushingly engrossing narrative, this film is an iconic film in every sense of the word.

Uncut Gems (2019)

It's one of the most talked-about films of the past year. This drama starring Adam Sandler is beyond bizarre and strange, yet it somehow finds its way to entertain me. It's bizarre in so many ways that it somehow finds a way to entertain. It has something that Adam Sandler's past films have not had: depth. It's an intriguing film, to say the least, and I commend the Safdie brothers' direction and their writing talents, because, though the film is strange, it is a thoroughly entertaining film.

New faces Safdie Brothers direct this thrilling drama. This is the single most odd film I've ever seen. They are able to, despite its very strange and bizarre narrative, craft a thrilling film that entertains from start to finish. The duo writes with a crisp rawness of a burst of authority with excessive profane language, it is able to emphasize the emotional drama of the film overall.

This film is perhaps usual funnyman Adam Sandler's most poignant role to date. His role as a tough and boisterous addicted gambler & jewelry store owner is one hell of a character. He packs no punches as this tough New York-based businessman. His performance is riveting and highly compelling, all thanks to the craft that the Safdie Brothers have made here.

Scoring the drama is Daniel Lopatin. His score is of electric and upbeat characteristics which help speed up the drama of the film overall. It helps the film be as thrilling as it is with this score. It's as fast-paced and exuberant as the film itself.

Some films aren't just to my liking. This film is however entertaining, it's just very strange and its approach is very bombastic and flashy. That being said, I do think its a good movie, just not a great film that requires a second viewing. With the film seemingly all over the place, it just doesn't seem like a film many would be interested in watching.

It's one of the strangest most bizarre films I've ever seen. Adam Sandler's performance is nothing short of dramatic yet somehow, this film is just not as great as it claims to be. Audiences will not go into this film with the expectation to laugh but rather indulge in the theatrics of Sandler's dramatic role in a slightly overwhelmingly odd and bizarre film that may not win over many people.

Doctor Sleep (2019)

It is the sequel to one of cinema's most thrillingly suspenseful films of all time. The iconic Stanley Kubrick's "The Shining" from 1980 gets a long-anticipated sequel and is the second story from author Stephen King. This film 40 years after the acclaimed 1980 predecessor is just as thrilling and suspenseful, not by much, it still has that same thrill factor of the original film but it just struggled a little during the first half of the film.

Horror cinema has evolved dramatically since 1980 and the release of the Jack Nicholson thriller. With this direct sequel 40 years in the making, it has the same thrill and suspense factors just like the previous film, but I still think that the Kubrick original is slightly better than this sequel.

Director Mike Flanagan is no stranger to thrillers and the horror scene. He is better known for his work on the Netflix show "The Haunting of Hill House". His take on this film is horrifying and lives up to the legacy of the original film. His vision of thrilling horror escapades goes deeper into the world Stephen King has created and while offering nostalgia to viewers who have seen the 1980 Kubrick horror masterpiece.

Playing adult Danny Torrence is none other than Ewan McGregor. McGregor does an outstanding job as the traumatically grown-up version of the character. His performance is nothing short of dramatic and sharp. Starring alongside McGregor, are Rebecca Ferguson (Mission Impossible: Fallout) and young breakout star Kyliegh Curran.

Ferguson stars as the villain of the film in a menacing and hellbent on gaining immortality. Curran plays a young girl who has the same supernatural abilities as Dan Torrence. Their performances are all equally dark and terrifying, which I think audiences will be entertained by.

Scoring this horror-thriller flick are the Newton Brothers. They are also no stranger to the horror-suspense thriller scene. They have also worked on the hit show "The Haunting of Hill House". Their score is as haunting as the original films. With a new spin on Wendy Carlos', Rachel Elkinds', and Chuck Cirino's theme from the original film, their score is as dark and electric as the film itself.

It's been forty years since the world first saw the dark and horrifying "Overlook Hotel". Now return to the iconic world and hotel once again in this new film. This new film lives up to the original film and the Kubrick style overall. Audiences of the original film will no doubt enjoy this film even more now that this sequel dives deeper into the world of the "Shining" unlike anything ever before.  Horror fans of old and new generations will be on the edge the whole time. This film does the original 1980 film justice in a menacingly thrilling fashion.

The Sound of Music (1965)

It is the single greatest musical film ever made, no question about it. For over 55 years, Rogers and Hammerstein's "The Sound of Music", still reigns supreme as the greatest musical-film of all time. It still manages to delight decades after its release. Even after so many years, the iconic film is still as great a film now as it was back then. It's iconic because of not just the vocal talents of Julie Andrews and Christopher Plummer, but its scenery and overall spectacle. It's the single greatest film of its kind and I think that's why audiences continue to watch and sing along to the film.

The films' director Robert Wise has created something so charming and magnificent that it's irresistible. His vision of telling this iconic story is marvelous and heartfelt. It's because of the stunning scenery and story that makes the film all the more charming. His work will live on forever with the creation of this beautiful film.

Leads Julie Andrews and Christopher Plummer give towering performances in the iconic film as Maria and Captain VonTrapp. They are the best part of the movie, but the kids are the real showstopping stars of it all. With the rambunctiousness of the VonTrapp kids, they are the funniest thing about the film.

This film stands out among the rest in its genre, because it's not only just a film musical, it's a real-life story. This film is the most memorable and iconic in so many ways, but the fact that this film is based on a true story is why this film is so unique in every possible way.

Not only does this film have excitement at every turn, but the songs are also very iconic. That is yet another reason why this film is so entertaining. The musical numbers are the one thing that this film makes so iconic. Yet, after 55 years, these songs and its score are still popular today.

It is the greatest musical film ever made. With its iconic Austrian scenery, a marvelous cast and catchy tunes, this film stood the test of time. It is indeed the all-time greatest film not just in the musical genre but one of the best films ever made. I have no doubt that the legacy of the film will continue to grow for ages.

Crip Camp: A Disability Revolution (2020)

For the longest time, disability has been underrepresented. Now, a full-length documentary shining a light on disability is here. The disability community finally gets the representation its been looking for from "Hollywood". What makes this documentary the perfect portrayal and representation of disability is the authenticity and appreciation the directors have for disability.

It is one of the best films to depict and showcase disability in a way that we can be proud of and appreciate even more than ever before. This film is a remarkable and groundbreaking achievement in film and getting the path set on the accurate and authentic portrayal of disability that we crave.

Directors James LeBrecht and Nicole Newnham make an extraordinary film. LeBrecht, who has Spina Bifida, knows just how to portray disability as it should be. The directing duo does an amazing job of making a film that actually captures the real and authentic picture of disability as a whole. I have no doubt this film will be a wake-up call to Hollywood and show them that this is how disability should be shown.

Famed composer Bear McCreary scores this film. McCreary makes a score that is as lighthearted and jubilant as the film as a whole. His jubilant score is of blue-grass and honky-tonk qualities.

One of the biggest things facing disability in the media today is representation. With films like this, disability in film and television can be just like this. But if only Hollywood listens, we won't get anywhere. This film, however, is at the forefront of accurate disability representation in film and television.

The Passion of the Christ (2004)

One of the most historically and religious events to ever happen in the history of mankind gets an extraordinary film portrayal. This event, the crucifixion of Jesus, and the last hours of his most extraordinary life. This iconic film is brought to life by none other than legendary director and devout Christian, Mel Gibson. Gibson makes this film even more meaningful while maintaining accuracy from the Bible. The film is not one for weak stomachs, this film as in the most bitter of graphics, is the most violent and disturbing films ever made. It will continue to be a staple in Hollywood but also for believers in Christ and non-believers for ages to come.

There aren't many people who can portray the legendary and miraculous messiah in any media form. That being said, Jim Caviezel, is outstanding as Jesus. Not only does he try and resemble the presumed look of Jesus, but he is essentially the best actor to portray him in any film or television program in history. Caviezel has outdone himself in the best way possible, playing Christ is his best performance. It is heavy, undoubtedly emotional and is especially very impactful on anyone who has seen it or those who still have yet to watch.

As I mentioned earlier, Mel Gibson brings histories most influential figures to the big screen everso triumphantly and with dignity and precision. Gibson stays accurate in telling the story of the death of Jesus very authentically and original that will delight audiences forever. Though the film is extremely violent, some may say that it is the most violent film ever made, albeit it certainly is, it does have its nonviolent sequences which are primarily in the form of flashbacks to the "Last Supper", are as impactful as the graphic nature and emotional moments throughout the entire film.

Jesus, being multi-lingual, Gibson wanted to tell this story in the way of the ancient language of Aramaic. Aramaic is the language in which parts of the middle east spoke at the time of Christ. That being said, the film is entirely subtitled, but it is as effective even if it's not in English. The emphasis that this language and the dialogue has on the film overall, is stunning and is a first for films of religious value.

Not only is the makeup, costumes, and sets so powerful to witness, but the score is even more powerful. Scoring this historical take on the most extraordinary events is John Debney. Debney makes the film even more dramatic. With a heavy inclusion of drums, a solo artist and the effect on this film overall, this is one of the eeriest and haunting compositions of music for a film, that I have ever heard.

This film is an essential cinematic viewing. It has the power to impact believers and non-believers in so many ways. With this film, there is no telling that this won't impact every single person that watches this extraordinary work of cinema. This film is life-changing and will always be life-changing for as long as humanly possible. It is the single greatest faith-based film to ever be made in Hollywood.

Onward (2020)

The one thing both "Disney & Pixar" is phenomenal at, is being able to create utterly entertaining films. Their newest feature is nothing short of magic. They are able to craft a film like its fellow filmography, is as beautiful as you would expect from these two iconic movie studios. For years, the studios have created some of the most emotional movies ever. With blockbusters such as: "Up, The Lion King and Inside Out", this film is next up to those films in being one of their most emotional films to date. Not only is this film emotional and creative, but it is also their most adult-centered film yet. With its story and visual effects, "Onward", is a brilliantly laid out and executed film of emotional proportions.

Director of the 2013 "Disney & Pixar" film "Monsters University", is Dan Scanlon. Scanlon returns to make yet another exciting film from the studio. He makes this film just as playfully magical as the rest of the studios' prior film entires. Scanlon's vision is executed flawlessly and with the help of a stellar voice cast, this film achieves the great honor of living up to the standard that all "Disney & Pixar" films do, is that they are all wonderful in their own way and that they each improve on every single feature that is released. I have no doubt that Scanlon's work here will be best regarded as one of the most adventurous and ambitious films yet.  It is beautifully animated, just like the studio's prior entries, and undoubtedly their most adult-themed story so far.

With an all-star cast led by Tom Holland and Chris Pratt who team up once again for a film that is not part of "Marvel", but for their first film at "Pixar". They are quite a comedic duo. They each pull off being very likable and charming in this film but while also showing audiences thee reason we fall in love with the films that "Pixar & Disney"  make, its because they get actors that star in their films to have great chemistry. The same goes for this film, Holland and Pratt have exciting chemistry which makes the film all the more enjoyable.

Starring alongside the two, are Julia Louis-Dreyfuss and Octavia Spencer. Louis-Dreyfuss plays the mother of Pratt and Hollands characters. Her part in this film is just as emotional as the two and she gives the film an extra kick to be just as entertaining as the two leads. While Spencer also plays a somewhat minor role, she is able to charm her way on the screen just as effectively as the rest of the cast.

Scoring the film, are Mychael and Jeff Danna. With a film that is as magical as it is exciting and emotional, the duo is able to create a score that is as light and medieval as stories with this nature have. The sibling composers are able to charm audiences with a score that is as lighthearted and delicate as the film overall.

Like I said earlier. this film is the most adult-themed film from the studio to date. Its emotional levity is what ultimately drives this film throughout the escapades of the characters and the mature nature of this film overall. I am sure that this film will impact audiences of all demographics because of the film's ability to connect audiences to a very emotional story.

If there is one film that Disney & Pixar make that is both their most emotional and beautifully animated film this far, it is this film. And if there is any film that is made for adults, it is also this film. What this film does is indescribable too few words its that emotionally gripping. This film is yet another outstanding entry into the studios of both "Disney & Pixar". I have no doubt this film will enchant emotional audiences for ages to come. It is their most ambitious film yet and I cannot wait to see how future films from the studios compare to this one as far as emotional intensity is concerned.

Bombshell (2019)

It was one of the media's most shocking scandals. This scandal saw the downfall of one of the biggest names in the world of broadcast-journalism., Roger Ailes. The founder of Fox News who quickly became a star in the business turned serial sexual abuser. This film is an eye-opening account of the scandal and sheds light on it so detailed in fashion. It also is very emotionally compelling in that it shows the impact of the victims in raw emotion which makes the film even more serious than it already is. This film has it all: humor, heart and a deeply compelling story on one of the journalist's biggest heroes turned foe. What this film manages to do so effortlessly, unlike other true-story based films is be a reviewing story throughout the entire film. It is truly one of the best films of the year.

This film is a star-studded saga. Playing former Fox News journalists: Megyn Kelly and Gretchen Carlson is none other than Charlize Theron and Nicole Kidman. The two leading ladies not only look exactly like the real players but they give phenomenal performances as the two famed journalists. They give performances that are undeniably memorable, emotional and charming throughout the film. I have no doubt that these performances have and will grab the attention of the real Carlson and Kelly, respectively. Meanwhile, playing the disgraced former Fox founder, who has since deceased in 2017, John Lithgow plays a conniving yet charismatic Roger Ailes. Lithgow's take on the troubled media mogul is thrilling yet haunting because of his spiraling downfall at the network.  And Margot Robbie, on the other hand, plays a fictitious character who is new to the network and wants to be at the top. Robbie's role is just as sensational as the rest of the cast.

Director Jay Roach and writer Charles Randolph, craft an equally compelling story retelling the events of the infamous scandal. Roach delivers with an authentic mind of originality. Randolph's script as just as original with his craft. The writing is not delicate in the slightest when detailing the haunting events that unfold throughout the film. What they do here is stunning and equally as such is obvious. The two have done something that only certain true story based films can do and that is delivering and staying true to the actuality of the events being retold.

Scoring this drama is Theodore Shapiro. His score, which includes a chorus of women, makes the film even more dramatic because of this. Shapiro makes the score the only delicate thing about this film because of the nature of the film and the seriousness of the film overall. The score adds to the drama and is perfectly balanced with it. The film also has an end-credits song, which amplifies the overall message of the film is that no one will be silenced if they talk about workplace harassment sexual to not.

As I said earlier, the film's make-up could not be more accurate and perfect than it is. It really does show the journalists in a way that is uncanny. Just like any other film based on a true story, but this film is extra detailed as it can be when it comes to the make-up and overall beauty of the film itself.

It shook not only the media by storm but the world. It is one of the most infamous media scandals of our time and its big-screen portrayal is nothing short of dazzling. I have no doubt this film will be a beacon of opportunity for anyone, man or woman, to not be afraid of speaking out against a hostile work environment. This film is an absolute sensation, even if the film gets too sensationalized in talking about the events of the scandal and the impact it had on the employees at one of the countries' television largest networks.

Knives Out (2019)

If there is any film within the past year that is intriguing as ever, it is this film. It is a cross between the game of clue and anything by author Agatha Christie. With its mystery and intrigue, this film is undoubtedly exciting. This film is all kinds of crazy. It will have audiences engaged at every moment. It is uniquely savvy in that the execution of the story is undoubtedly original and thrilling at the highest levels. I have no doubt this film will rank among the best films of not only the year but of mystery-intrigue value.

Writer-director Rian Johnson has made one of the best films of not only the past year but also within the last decade. He is smart with his craft and creates the ultimate case of film intrigue and wonder. The film is not only mysterious and delightfully entertaining but the film is also very funny. It is able to pull quality laughs from the audience and that is a fantastic thing for this film.

This film leads an all-star ensemble of A-listers including Daniel Craig, Jamie Lee-Curtis, Chris Evans and the legendary Christopher Plummer. They are all stunning in this film, but especially Craigs donning of a southern accent as a mysterious yet well-known sleuth. His performance is utterly charming and charismatic because of the energy he puts into the role.

Scoring the whodunnit is Nathan Johnson. With the film taking place in a mansion of Victorian architecture, it is only fitting for this film to have a classical sound to play throughout the film. Johnson does this so effectively and its as suspenseful as the film itself.

It is one of the most interesting films to date. This film is unique in every sense of the word. It pulls off the impossible by being an entertaining film but also one of the most fascinating films of the century. With twists at every turn, this whodunnit is one you cannot miss.

Frozen 2 (2019)

It has been 7 years since the global phenomenon Frozen first debuted to audiences and smashed box-offices everywhere. Now we return to the magical land of Arendelle for even more fun and entertainment. The box-office smash hit gets a beautifully animated sequel. This is the first Disney princess film to get a direct sequel. What makes Disney films so unique is their utter beauty and charm. This film is no exception. What it manages to do is be even more beautiful than the original and even more enjoyable. I have no doubt that this film will rank among one of the best Disney films of all time.

Returning directors Chris Buck and Jennifer Lee are back with a bang. They are able to once again craft a magical film that fans of Disney will absolutely love. It does improve upon the original film in that it is more in-depth to explore the world of our favorite characters even more. Lee & Buck return in spectacular fashion and make the film even more enjoyable than the original.

Also returning to make the show-stopping tunes is the husband-wife duo, Robert Lopez and Kristen Anderson-Lopez. They return with even more catchy tunes than in the first film. They are what makes this film so special. The songs add to the story in a number of ways that make it succeed. They will no doubt go down in history as one of the most successful songwriting duos of all time.

Voicing our favorites once more, Idina Menzel, Kristen Bell, Jonathan Groff, and Josh Gad return as our favorite characters. Just like in the first film, they all deliver comedic and heartfelt performances once again as our favorite and highly likable characters.

Scoring the film once again is Christophe Beck. Beck scores the film in a way that is as charming as the rest of the film. It is as upbeat and classy as before. The score makes the film even more enchanting as ever.

Venture into the unknown once again. This film is one of the studio's best sequels in recent years even if the ending of the film is abrupt and not detailed. The folks at Disney have made yet another smash-hit that fans of the first film will like maybe even more than the 2013 original film.

Birds of Prey (and the Fantabulous Emancipation of One Harley Quinn) (2020)

Lately, the films from "DC Comics"  have been much better than other films from previous films to come out from the folks at DC. What they have managed to do with this film, is up the ante, go all out with the story and the return of Margot Robbies "Harley Quinn". It is essentially one of the best films from the studio to date. This film is utterly crazy in all the good ways possible. It's memorable and emotional and undeniably exciting. The folks over at "DC Comics" have once again done it again at creating yet another entertaining film.

Rising star and director of the film Cathy Yan has done a phenomenal job at creating one of the best comic films from the studio to date. She makes this film as entertaining as possible. It has heart and cleverness beyond anything I have seen from "DC Comics" in recent years. It has so much to offer fans of the superhero film phenomenon.

Some actors are just born to play certain roles. There is no exception for Margot Robbie. She first debuted in 2016's "Suicide Squad" as Harley Quinn. Her portrayal is utterly crazy exciting and undeniably eccentric and that is why I think she was born to play that role.

Starring alongside Robbie, are Ewan McGregor as the villain, Jurnee Smolett-Bell, Mary Elizabeth Winstead and Rosie Perez. This stacked cast is phenomenal and it is indeed one of the best ensembles in a superhero film yet.

On top of the stellar cast, is the films super packed action. This film sees action sequences that are top notch. The action in the film is colorful and unique to the highest proportions. The film is dark and sullen, but it blends altogeter even with the humor in the film. It is as slapstick as you could make it. By which makes the film even more exciting.

Scoring the action-packed film is Daniel Pemberton. His score is as exciting as the film overall. It is as energetic as the film and is just overall a fun way to keep the film together.

This film is a landmark achievement for superhero films. Though it does get a little carried away by McGregor, it is still a very solidly entertaining film for all superhero film fanatics. This film will no doubt rank high among the most entertaining films in the superhero film genre.

The Gentleman (2020)

Some of the years best films typically aren’t released until later in the year, but that doesn’t stop this film. This film is bonkers and action-packed from start to finish. It stands out as one of the first exciting films of the year. What makes this film exciting is the comedic aspects of it and the interesting story that keeps audiences entertained all throughout the film. It is a film that is unlike any film that is filled with action-packed and is utterly hilarious.

Director Guy Ritchie makes a film that is unique in every way. Richie can craft a film that, despite its odd and weird tone, is able to make audiences enjoy the film because of its uniqueness. The story Ritchie creates is nothing short of enticing.

Starring in the film is Matthew McConaughey. His role as a wealthy drug profiteer is a role that I could not see him in. But he is full of surprises at every turn. His performance is not one of his best roles, but he is unique at everything he does in this film.

The films action sequences are just as crazy as the film itself. It keeps the film at bay with all the chaos that surrounds the story. Some of the best action sequences so far this year are in this film.

Though this film isn’t perfect, it still manages to entertain. It was just enough energy to excite audiences, even if it takes a while to thoroughly get the job done.
