The Shallows (2016)

“The Shallows” stars Blake Lively (The Sisterhood of The Traveling Pants), in this powerful and dramatic, thrilling film about a medical student (Lively),whotakes a day at the beach to surf some massive waves. After a while, her character is suddenly attacked by a monstrous Great White Shark. Her character must endure tremendous amounts of pain and suffering to survive the deadly encounter and get help. Lively excels most at a dramatic aspect, therefore she delivers a powerful performance. Spanish director Jaume Collet-Serra who’s no stranger to directing dramatic films, does a splendid and riveting job at the approach made to execute this movie. Although the film has scenic wonders, the gore and other obscene special effects, which are without a doubt a realistic cause for nausea. “The Shallows” is a suspenseful modern day version of the 1975 summer blockbuster, Steven Spielberg’s “Jaws”.

Review Series: The Dark Knight Trilogy (2005-2012)

Batman Begins (2005)  He has been a staple in the confines of comic books. And now, the legendary "Dark Knight"  gets a screen adaptation worth viewing. Unlike the 1989 " Batman"  film starring Michael Keaton, where it relied heavily on comedy, this new take on the caped-crusader is heartfelt, emotional, and amazing. Christian Bale does an amazing job in his performance as both Bruce Wayne and the Batman. Bale dawns the billionaire turned Gotham saving, Joker crushing and Bane destroying superhero in a performance that improves throughout the trilogy. Christopher Nolan directs the first entry of the trilogy. Nolan does an excellent job making this look at the batman in a way that is fulfilling and satisfying. He uses any and all means necessary to make audiences feel the tension alongside Bales character(s). Nolan proves that this installment is a solid start to the legendary superhero saga. Spider-Man: No Way Home (2021)

The final entry to the " Homecoming " trilogy is the best in the series. Not only is it the best in the series, but it is also the best Spider-Man film of all time without a doubt in my mind. It was the year's most anticipated film of the year and it not only lives up to the hype, but it also exceeds expectations. It has the most action I have ever seen in a Spider-Man film. The action is intense, exciting, and thrilling. The film also has the genuine heart and humor fans of the franchise, let alone the Marvel filmography as a whole, have come to expect. It will go down in cinema history as one of the most entertaining superhero films of all time.  Director Jon Watts concludes his trilogy in a fantastic fashion.
